College Football Week 13 Recap

Scott Morris | November 30, 2015

The regular season of college football ended with Week 13 and conference championship games are scheduled for this weekend. Here is a brief recap of how the games ended for Week 13.

Favorites at home were 49-13 straight up and 39-22-1 against the spread. At home, teams were 28-34 SU and 24-37-1 ATS. The over/under was 34-26-2 for the week.

Thanksgiving weekend solved many questions as the end of the season playoff picture was tightened and brought more into focus. Five of the top 6 teams in the country were outright winners with the Top 6 ending the weekend 5-1 ATS.

The lone exception was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who fell to Stanford 38-36 on a field goal in the last second, but still earned a cover.

Clemson defeated South Carolina 37-32, but did not come close to covering a 20.5-point spread and showed some softness on defense.

Baylor lost to TCU in double overtime in rainy, sloppy playing conditions. The Bears were one of three teams in the Top 10 to lose outright and not cover the number with Florida and Oklahoma State joining the Gators.

Ohio State trounced Michigan after being beaten the previous week by Michigan State. The win was the Buckeyes most complete offense performance of all season.

Michigan State roughed up Penn State to the tune of 55-16 cementing their place in the Big 10 final against Iowa with the winner assured of a spot in the College Football Playoff final four.

Houston beat Navy 52-31 to bounce back from its only defeat of the season. Houston likely earned a big payday with the win as they will be almost assured of a New Year’s Day bowl appearance.

Oklahoma routed Oklahoma State in the final regular season game for both and left no doubt what team is the best in the Big 12.

The Sooners will not get an opportunity to prove themselves in a conference championship game as the Big 12 does not hold one, but have an outside shot at one of the four spots in the CFP.
